While both THCV and Delta-9 THC (or cannabis) offer users a pretty similar buzz, the main difference between both of these cannabinoids is their legality. THCV is entirely legal under federal law thanks to the farm bill, while Delta 9-THC is illegal at the federal level and in most states. From a user's standpoint, both compounds come with a killer buzz that can give you a fantastic experience.

THCV is federally legal. However, the following states do not allow THCV (to date): Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah.

THCV does have a mild psychotropic high, or buzz associated with its use. However, it is an energizing, uplifting high, not a relaxing high that will leave you locked into the couch.

Where cannabis and hemp cannabinoids like Delta-8 THC are appetite stimulants, THCV is thought to be an appetite suppressant. In other words, with other cannabinoids, you may get the munchies, but with THCV, you may find yourself eating a bit less. While THCV on its own cannot cause you to lose weight, it might be able to help when added to a balanced lifestyle that includes eating right, sleeping well, and exercising.
